Today we laid Helen to rest in a peaceful graveyard with her father.
The family was joined by many extended family and friends, particularly those from Abbot Hall.

Then a Celebration Service was held at Auchlochan and Helen's 94 year old mother Elsie was able to attend. Speakers paid tribute to the courage and strength of Elsie and Helen's father Bob for raising Helen to become the strong woman that she was. Helen's nieces and nephews all took part. Sister Dorothy talked about Helen's abilities - and how Helen has helped to contribute to a greater recognition of the achievements of those who were previously labelled in ways that disrespected their uniqueness and talents.

There were presentations of Helen's achievements in reading, writing, singing and many photographs of her adventures.

The family wishes to thank all who contributes to making this a special day and for recognising Helen's life.
